The theatre was truly magnificent being the second largest theater in New York State. Radio City is still the only theatre that tops it with seating for As you approached the RKO, with its grand Marquee, large brass and glass doors and outside ticket booth, you just knew you would be in for a real treat. For 85 cents you could watch two movies and a cartoon or newsreel.
Once you bought your ticket at the outside booth you would pass through the outside brass and glass doors into the outer lobby where you were greeted by a doorman. On busy weekends you could also purchase tickets from another cashier at the inner ticket booth on the right. Once you past the doorman your RKO Theatre experience would begin.
